Logopalooza has been many things since its inception in 2006 – blog, podcast & logo book. Here’s what the latest incarnation is about.

The Early Years.

Logopalooza was just one of those words that seemed to come naturally to designers at our studio. It was perfect for anything to do with logos and the design of same – so it wasn’t much of a reach that our first downloadable logo collection in 2006 was simply called Logopalooza. logopalooza-one-book--podcast-cover Then it became the title of our logo blog which stayed that way for a while. It became the title of our logo design podcast series – a series that never really became a series and died on the vine soon after we launched it, there not being too much interest in podcasts in those days.

Now we’ve come full circle again and Logopalooza is once more a celebration of logos & design of same, only this time as a digital magazine that showcases branding and logo art buttressed with some interesting bits & pieces. To that end, we’ve got ourselves a new brash & bold logo too. logopalooza-logo-development-2 To see the design process behind our unorthodox branding, check out the case study in Logopalooza 3. The little dancing man (that’s what we actually call him) who’s been with us since day one? He’s back in all in his glory. logopalooza-one-book-podcast-coverLike the main Logopalooza brand mark, he’s designed to be color agnostic and change on a fairly regular basis without issue. We can avoid looking at the same colors all the time, while he can be tied into the palette of whatever volume of Logopalooza is in circulation. All-all-all, a decent branding setup and apropos of the venture it’s supposed to represent.

The Art & Design

Logo design isn’t just something we do around our studio, but our personal ethos and something we’ve been passionate about for more than two decades. To celebrate that passion, we occasionally release books & manuals that are full of logo examples, tips and observations. Naturally, they needed their own brand name – Logopalooza – and the first two editions of Logopalooza have been downloaded a few hundred thousand times apiece since their release. Volume 3 was released March 5 2017.Logopalooza 3 cover image
